Abattoir (2016) 3 almost haunted house horns up out of 8.    A reporter for a paper tries to investigate events where homes have murders take place, then someone buys the house and removes the crime scene.   Seems like someone wants to build the ultimate haunted house.  Great idea… too bad the movie falls flat, main characters had about as much chemistry as a dinner date with Trump and Clinton. Magda (Something About Mary) / Elise (Insidious) shows up in the movie to further confuse the plot as the small town mother who “explains” the cult and it’s haunted house origins.    Filmed well, looked to be a big budget horror, but wasn’t.     Violet and Kevin both give it 1.5 horns out of 4.
